  Background and Negotiations
   

Negotiations towards a free trade agreement between El Salvador and Honduras and Taiwan were launched on 29 May 2006 in El Salvador. The second round of negotiations took place in July in San Francisco, USA. The third round was held 04-08 September in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

El Salvador and Taiwan concluded their negotiations on 24 November 2006. The FTA was signed on 7 May 2007.

  Entry Into Force
   

The Free Trade Agreement El Salvador-Honduras-Taiwan entered into force on 1 January 2008 for El Salvador and Taiwan and on 15 July 2008 for Honduras.
